Meet David

David talking to his support worker

David shares insight into his how he communicates after having a stroke. He explains how he uses a partner assisted scanning alphabet chart, organised in frequency order. He also shows how he uses BrainFingers, an EMG muscle switch operated by his Masseter muscle (jaw) with a Grid Pad for communication, entertainment and environmental control.

To learn more about how we supported David in making his communication more efficient visit our project about
switch scanning frequency analysis.

This system has allowed me to be more independent, sending emails, texts, downloading music, using the phone, watching films on YouTube, accessing Facebook and Twitter and operate my TV, plug sockets, lighting and blinds.
